Rosehill Press was established in 1985 by Martin Horner who to this day is still our Managing Director. He was an ex-miner who saw out the entire miners strike of 1984 and when the strike was declared over, and they all marched back to work, he decided he couldn't face going underground again so founded Rosehill with just one single colour press and a guillotine in rented premises above a shop opposite Rosehill Park in Rotherham from where the company name is derived.

Through sheer hard work and determination, Martin slowly but surely built the company, seeing prospective clients during the day and printing their requirements by night. He worked long and exhausting hours and eventually took on new staff to cope with the demand and settled into a more relaxed 14 hour a day, 7 days a week routine.

In the fullness of time, new premises were needed and also needed was the opportunity to invest in new and diverse equipment. A 5500 square foot council owned unit was rented and then became home for several very successful years which saw the company thrive despite various recessions and downturns in trade. Martin was selling the company on the basis of quality and service but more importantly was making sure that he was true to his word. This is still the ethos of the company today.

In 1999 Rosehill moved to their current premises taking the plunge and investing in the purchase of land and having a "tailor made" 24,500 square foot unit built. This enabled further investment in all aspects of the company from the studio through to print and various finishing equipment, all aimed at making the process of delivering quality print more efficient and cost effective. This also provided the opportunity to branch out into colour print with the purchase of a 5 colour B3 press which has long since been replaced by our state of the art 5 colour press with UV drying.

Since then the premises have been extended to 26,500 square foot of manufacturing and offices, and we have had a 10,500 square foot warehouse built next door to the main plant to facilitate the ever growing demand for storage and distribution.

This is by no means the end of the Rosehill Story. We will, above all else, continue to offer both quality and service and of course competitive prices and will continue to invest as and when time and market forces dictate to keep us as one of the best printers in the UK.
